We went to a model train show today so that the older two could work on a merit badge for Boy Scouts. One of the things they had to do was build a rail car from a kit well enough that it made it successfully around the track on one of the layouts set up nearby. Neither boy has much experience model building, and almost no exposure to model trains, but they took to it pretty well. Heck, it's moving vehicles, remote controls and tools! What's not for a boy to love?!... :-)
