I've discovered the trick to taking a picture of a 13 year old - a 13 year who tends towards awkward - is to stand far enough away and then look like you are fiddling with the settings on your camera so that he does not actually know if you are taking pictures yet or not!! Mom for the win - with a shout out to Mother Nature for the gorgeous lighting! :-)
