Juncos In My Driveway! by hbdaly

Juncos In My Driveway!

It's been a pretty mild Fall around here until, well, today! The bitter air has arrived - and as if I hadn't already figured out that Winter is indeed coming - I spied a flock of these little guys pecking around my driveway. Talk about a harbinger! I fear the white stuff can't be far behind... :-(
oh, so lovely.

I had no idea that Juncos were a winter bird... However, Ken announced that on the way home from the gym this morning there was sleet and some snow flurries. With that I just huddled further under the covers! ("Coffee, please"...)

@Weezilou according to David (our resident critter expert) We are the "warm weather destination" for the Juncos to migrate to in winter. They summer up your way in Canada and the colder regions. So I guess technically for you they are not a winter bird! ;) Although if you start seeing them in SoCal then we are all in trouble!...
