Wet play begins here

There was quite a puddle at the entrance to the playground in the park today. That didn't seem to be putting off the young ones after school time when the sun decided to put in a brief appearance for the day. I was ready to explain myself to anyone who challenged my hanging around with the camera at a play area but unlike earlier in the day, I seemed to get away unnoticed.

This mundane gate has no special features or character yet brightens the path and marks the entrance to a world of adventure.
Love the reflection of the fence in the puddle. Finally rained here today too, haven't seen rain for weeks.

Love the reflections in this image! Wonderful composition! I'm sure the children find this beautiful yellow gate quite inviting! :-)

Well I have to say,I love the gate......because it has lines. I seem to have a bit of an obsession for them! I think it may be because I used to be a ballet teacher. Everything was about lines. Arm lines, leg lines, keeping the head in line! It goes on! So that's my confession! The gate is great!

@onewing glad you got your rain, we have had plenty to last a while but I have a new appreciation for it now that I am out with a camera every day.

@gaylewood thank you Gayle. I took a good long look at a lot of gates yesterday and by the end of the day, this one seemed to me to be amongst the more attractive of the mundane ones I was seeking!

@janemartin you might have to avoid my photo for today Jane as all the lines are distorted! You must always be looking at people's posture too. Anyway, lines are always good in photos :)

I really like the pov you chose for this, and the bright yellow of the gate. The reflections are lovely, and the whole thing has the sparkling quality one sees when the sun comes out after rain has fallen. This is an example of how water in its various forms has a visually transforming effect on what it touches.

All those great lines - well spotted.

@tristansmum oh yes - water and sunlight, both truly making or breaking a picture. In this case I was fortunate - both were there to add to it.
