Wimbledon

Today we visited our younger son in London who is just settling into rented accommodation in Wimbledon and paying at least twice more for his bedroom than I have ever payed on a mortgage for a house.

This was the only photograph taken today - so although not very inspiring, it will have to do. Taken from his balcony looking down the road. A one bed flat in these houses will set you back at least half a million pounds. Crazy.
crazy alright

That is pricey real estate! It should be a fun area for him to live for awhile.

Frightening prices.

it is unbelievable but happening now in some cities! Don't know how anyone can afford it!

Wow, glad I came to live in Australia. Half a million for a one bedroom flat would really eat into the bank balance.

Kas
Location, location, location. Certainly don't get a lot for your money in that neighbourhood except a smart postcode. Nice clear sharp image though.

@kali66 @taffy @gillian1912 @dide @kwind @maggiemae @onewing @wag864 It is astonishing to me what has to be paid just to rent a small place with no special character, but my son is excited to have progressed from student accommodation to something he can make a home of. He is fortunately earning well in his first job. Wimbledon village just along the road is delightful. @moonmtn thanks - twas a shot in desperation!

Oh, so this is Wimbledon, eh? I really like these photos that show me what it's like in other places around the world. That certainly is expensive but as Kas commented...location, location, location. Definitely a Fav because I don't have any other shots of Wimbledon in my Fav collection. :-)
