Anglesey Abbey by helenhall

Anglesey Abbey

I don't often post a photograph of a building like this. Today we were at this National Trust property with my Dad. I had trouble all day with forgetting that I had changed my settings to something unusual, and in this instance, I was still on the macro lens setting. But I have to say, I rather liked the painterly effect that resulted. All I have done to this is nudged the colour and contrast a little.
Such a lovely old building... it looks huge!

@kwind Not the biggest of the stately family homes, but neither was it modest. The gardens are huge and delightful.
@cruiser thank you Chris, for this, and all of your many comments which I appreciate very much. Very beautiful building I agree.
@onewing Yes - it is not too pretentious which I like about it

Sometimes those accidents (I. e. improper settings) actually work in our favor- as it does here. I like the effect too.

@olivetreeann thank you Ann. It is just as well they sometimes work out, as I am quite the forgetful person when it comes to returning things to their neutral position.
