It could be that you have had enough by now of me and my walls, but i'm finding that they do seem to fit the half and half theme rather well.
I'm moving from Bethlehem to Hebron now. This is one of the darkest places to be in the West Bank. The main road through the town is barred to Palestinians and so all side roads that used to lead on to it have been blocked by the same concrete blocks that make up the partition wall. Which is what you see here in this picture.
And there are many more stories to tell about Hebron. But as not everyone would appreciate my point of view, I shall refrain. Suffice to say, whoever you are, the old city is not a comfortable place to be.
Yesterday I took my camera in to a repair shop and left it there for a diagnosis. So I may continue to be without, for a while.
My God! That wall looks so eerie. I can see what you mean about it being a dark place. Can't imagine living like that. What an adventure you're having! Very brave!
@janemartin hi Jane. The adventure is in the past. With my camera broken, Im taking the opportunity to find halfandhalf pictures from the haul of photos I brought back with me from the West Bank, as I go through them. @ivan the children live their lives surrounded by soldiers and no-go areas. They are escorted to school to protect them as they have to walk through the restricted areas to get to their school. Much like Northern Ireland in its most troubled times. @domenicododaro thank you. Im glad that it is conveying it's message. @wenser - then I have succeeded, thank you.
@maggiemae so many people haven't a clue, but I am mindful that there are two sides to every story. I just show what I saw. @cruiser certainly difficult to find things that are uplifting in Hebron. @onewing so true. @fotoblah where there is division, there is a certain kind of poverty for all and certainly unpleasantness on both sides. @365projectorgjenfurj Thank you. I am happy to do this, just for a while. Many travel to Israel and come back without any idea of what it is like to live there.
@jerome the walls in the heads are perhaps the most damaging of all and the most difficult to remove. Best not to build them! Im very happy to take pleasure in your drifting to bright comfortable places, as shown to us in your photography Jerome.

And I drift away with a cotton white cloud, away to bright, comfortable places...
Bright comfortable places... Places without violence, without injustice, without walls...
How nice that you are there.
