It was most certainly a stone wall and not a brick wall that we hit this afternoon. It was a case of poor navigation leading us up the garden path. Well rather, the path on the moor. You see, we had been told we were in for a steep climb and so we continued upwards for some distance before observing that we could not observe the expected landmarks. We set resolutely across the moorland to get back to the path lower down the side of the hill, but the stone walling was not kind enough to afford us a way through. And so we followed it downwards until finally reaching a section that allowed us to clamber, in ungainly fashion, over the wall. It was then necessary to pick our way down several escarpments before reaching this gentle path which would have taken us to our intended destination had we been following more carefully.
That will teach us to spurn the guided walk next time.
The rain had belted down all morning as we sang our hearts out watching the landscape receive a full and thorough drenching. But the skies cleared and out came the sun for the remainder of the afternoon. Perfect.
Lovely composition and line, something I'm really struggling with. I'm pleased all worked out well on the day, perhaps the guided walk would have been a little tame compared to your antics
Love reading of your adventures. This was no exception..
i like the PoV as it gives a look over the wall to the beauty beyond as well as the foreground. everything is looking lush just now.. all those wonderful shades of green..
so glad you survived your day out - not that there would be a doubt..
Sounds like a real adventure.... glad you arrived back safe & sound though
