I am enjoying the discipline of going back to looking specifically for a photo every day this month. Although I am still holding some in reserve for those days which turn out to be impossible. I find that it takes some time and concentration to enable my brain to find enjoyable abstract images. It really is about looking at the world in a different way.
This one was grabbed indoors at home, for a change, It seens that although I have stayed clear of water, I am still drawn to that rippled reflection type of effect.
Since I already know, I am not sure how identifiable the subject mater is. I am pretty sure it wont have you as confused as with the slug though. My apologies to those who thought it was something much more appealing like flowers or beach sand etc ....
Well, if one of the criteria is not knowing what it is, then you've done a fine job. I have a friend who is an abstract artist and whenever I went to her house and named one of her paintings, she would turn it upside down. You have such discipline.
I think this is such an interesting challenge you've set for yourself. It really forces you to think about composition so I"m guessing there will be nice payoff not only for the fun of it now, but down the road. I quite like this one!
Gosh Helen you are doing well. I thought this was a car's exhaust but when I read that you had taken it indoors, I thought I would have to go back to the drawing board!
@olivetreeann thank you Ann. @moonmtn I am not so sure if it is one of the criteria, but it makes for a good guessing game. Does that mean that your friend discarded her work if it was recognisable? @taffy you are so right. I find myself looking very hard at things to see it there is anything at all remarkable that can be captured. @rosiekind thanks Rosie. it does look a little like an exhaust - not intentional but I agree. @helenm2016 Helen you have the measure of this. the top is a metal jug and the two ceramic pieces are a pair of vases for single flowers, They just happened to be sitting like that on the window sill and I captured them - sort of from above.
Fabulous reflection, love the contrast between movement and stillness, smooth and ruffled, fluid and solid, black and white.. so many contradictions/oppositions here.. Love the whole thing.. fav
Well, I never would have guessed what this is. Your abstracts are definitely a challenge for me to figure out. That's good! I need challenges like this! :-)
