British Summer Time draws to a close

It wont be long before this time of the afternoon is completely dark as the clocks go back this weekend. A shame, because this is such a lovely time of day at the moment with the sun low and the Autumn browns coating the floor.

I took several of this scene, trying to portray the silvery lines connecting blades of grass and glistening in the sun, but in the end came back to this first one which had the better composition. I also spent time trying to make some improvements with processing, but when I compared the finished result with this SOOC version, I felt it had taken more away than it had added.

Hopefully Ill get around to sorting the holiday photos over the weekend.
The angle of light is everything, for me. Nice image, Helen Jane.

It still looks warm - you will just have to take pics an hour earlier!

@ivan I agree - light is everything. Ive so much to learn about instinctively using it for the good in photography.

@janemartin It was a beautifully warm autumn afternoon. Today feels much colder already, and tomorrow, the darkness will have started to creep into this hour.

@maggiemae An hour earlier will be difficult most days, as I will be at work but the sentiment is right. Will just have to learn to work with the new season.

@stimuloog Thank you. I rather enjoyed the flares on the bench too.

@kwind @gaylewood @cruiser thank you Kim, Gayle and Chris for your complements. I wanted to show up all the strands in the grass (cobwebs perhaps?) but was not able to without losing the composition.
