Turbulent Edge by helenhall

Turbulent Edge

I'm enjoying a couple of days of unscheduled time before returning to work. It feels like a suitable day to post some profound thoughts regarding life and the year ahead, or some sensible reflections on the year past. but since no such thoughts are in my head, I am posting more from my walk yesterday.

The river was flowing fast and bursting its banks, with the sluice open for excess water to pound down the flood channel, I became fascinated with the turbulent water and took a few shots. Black and white suited better since the murky green colour of the water did it no favours.

So .... if the end of 2017 and the start of 2018 has a turbulent edge to it for you ... then whether or not you can see purpose it it right now ... my wishes for you are that the turbulance will clear away anything that is unwanted, and calm and peace will resume. For everyone, may your journey through from this year to next, be safe and full of hope.

(I wondered if this fitted the black and white edge challenge that I spotted a few minutes ago).
Wishing you a peaceful and happy new year too Helen.

This is a wonderful shot. The movement at the bottom and the still of the upper part (but what are they, those circles?) Wishing you all the very best for 2018.

@helenm2016 Thank you Helen - especially for your kind assessment of the image. The circles are mould/lichen growths on a concrete wall that forms the flood defence.
@stimuloog many thanks Marloes for your comment and good wishes.
@cruiser thank you Chris for your good wishes and all of your kind comments on my project through the year just gone.
