One every two years, some 300,000 people descend on the part of Bedford town where I live for the River Festival. For two days, the Embankment and local park is flooded with food outlets, throbbing with live bands, buzzing with excitement and promises all the fun of the fair and jollity of river parades, road processions, all kinds of demonstrations and a host of water activities.
It has to either be embraced, or escaped by the local residents.
Here I wanted to depict the bright side!
Here is a composite of three different photographs taken on the same exploration of the festival on Saturday. I'm afraid I got so fed up picking out the background from the roller coaster to reveal the blue sky, that I have erased the safety cables!
