One of my friends is a very skilled cake maker and she was commissioned to make the wedding cake for another dear friend of mine's eldest son. Helping to set up, and then attending the wedding party occupied the whole of my day on Saturday. There were several guests around with huge specialist cameras and so I put mine away for the day and just enjoyed the proceedings.
I couldn't get a good picture of the whole cake since it was in a dark corner, but you can see how beautiful the icing roses are which matched the button hole roses worn by the wedding party exactly.
i always am jealous of people who have skills like this. my sister in the old country also earns a living by doing this and i was always i awe watching her make a cake and it comes out like those we see in magazines. that is one skill i don't have, you know!
there are times now when i prefer to be an observer rather than the photographer, yes, especially when there are people who have those big lenses. but sometimes, it doesn't mean they're better than you. :-) hope you enjoyed yourself.
