Boys of Swaiden by helenhall

Boys of Swaiden

These boys live in a Bedouin village called Swaiden in the South Hebron Hills. The village has a 'masterplan' which means it is officially recognised by the Isareli state. We visited a girls school there. The boys swamped the school fascinated by the western visitors. The girls school was the initiative of the villagers, since the girls were leaving school at puberty - their parents no longer feeling it appropriate that they mix with the boys. Whilst we were there, the school received delivery of computers for a new suite, which will enable them to educate the girls up to the age of 18.

See https://365project.org/helenhall/365-extras/2019-04-13 for a view of a different Bedouin village nearby.

High contrast. I prefer those with bicycles. They are more interesting.
