Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux - The Four Parts of the World

I have just three spaces left to complete the story of my mini trip to Paris - although it must by now seem to my followers more as if I spent a month's vacation there.

So, without further ado, I will move on to our final outing which was to Musee D'Orsay. The museum of art is housed in an old railway station which serves as a fine exhibit in itself.

Having been before, I knew it would be a hit with my Dad, and I was not mistaken. Having walked the length of the hall, it looked as though we were going to get no further, but with the aid of a wheelchair, the trip continued. This did, however largely put a stop to the photography since I was the one pushing.

Our visit to Musee D'Orsay was declared the highlight of the weekend. Job done!
Interesting to read about this sculpture - Europe, Asia, Africa and America. But I would like to see which figure belongs to which world! It was good there was a wheelchair available!

Wonderful composition and lines. I always end up with leaning lines, so I know how difficult it is. Fav

Excellent composition. I'm really impressed by the lack of perspective distortion accomplished with a phone.
