Cup Quartet by helenhall

Cup Quartet

It is always good to do something different with the camera - even if it doesn't seem very exciting. In the process of snapping my coffee cups I learned:

just how difficult it is to arrange identical items in an appealing manner

just how much difference a small change of angle can make to a composition

just how prepared I am to risk breaking a precious cup in order to try for a good shot

just how much I like my bright orange wall, but wish the rest of my décor was navy blue and not dark green

and

just how bad my knees have got and how difficult it is to keep getting up and down
great composition, it's the way the top left cup is positioned!

You are quite right - the difference between amateur and a skilled photographer! Join the knee club!

I love your narratives! I'm in the knee club too, no-one told me getting old was going to be like this ...

Love this !! And your narrative- I have a lovely scuffed up left knee as I squat down to balance myself and try not to fall over getting back up

Plus I am so I love with those beautiful blue cups

Having tried a few still life type shots, I am much more appreciative of those with the eye for creating an interesting composition. This is very attractive.

It works well as a still life and also is great for the theme. I can relate to the lesson about knees and getting up and down!

Wow, that complimentary blue/orange color combination really makes this pop! Great commentary, too. :)
