The bi-plane had become this dot in the distance before I had managed to find a position for a clear and unobstructed view but it is a happy reminder for me, of an ambition being fulfilled.
Later on that day, one of the two Tiger Moths flying with the Classic Wings company from the same airfield (but not the one M was in) had to make a crash landing in a nearby field. And elsewhere, in Kent, tragically a Tiger Moth came down with both pilot and passenger killed.
I hadn't realised we were taking quite such a risk.
