With just two of us at home over the Easter holiday, my batch of hot cross buns will allow over indulgence tomorrow.
I now have bread flour a plenty, a neighbour spotted some at the supermarket and the same day my son found some in his supermarket. So a few doorstep exchanges were done. I used up some of my precious supply of yeast to keep at least one tradition of the Easter season in making the buns, complete with their crosses, ready for breakfast on Good Friday.
Thankful for all the food we have in abundance, for the farmers that carry on growing, and the manufacturers that carry on making, and for the shop keepers that carry on opening.
These look delicious! I love the close-up look at them, and how kind of you to do some doorstep exchanges. I'm sure your efforts were much appreciated! Like you, it was just two of us here for Easter this year. I hope you enjoyed this most special holiday.
