Oak by helenhall

Oak

The mighty oak - one of the first tree leaves I learned to recognise. At the age of about 10 I attended local nature camp for a few days in the summer holidays. It wasn't far from home in Cheshire. One of the first things we did was learn to recognise some of the local trees. Strange the things that stick in your mind - I remember it far better than any of the lessons I had at school.
Lovely light and detail.

Beautiful lighting, with that pretty rim of white on the leaves. Makes them stand out so well!

My nature skills are sadly lacking and I recognise very few trees. I like the light and bokeh you have captured. Lovely shot.

love that rim lighting you captured. i knew the trees and leaves in the old country, climbed a few of them during grade school. but here in canada, it's not difficult to learn as when going to parks, they always have a name plate on a tree, especially one that are centuries old. but what i have never met or seen is poison ivy and nobody i know knows how to id it, too. i only want to know for safety reasons though.
