Brought back memories of childhood. Whenever we used to drive over the Pennines to visit my Nanna, Mum used to pick a clump of heather and put it in the car for good luck. Must have gypsy in my blood somewhere, ha ha.
@onewing yes - I particularly remember the heather from driving over the Pennines in my childhood. We used to meet friends at the car park at the Cat and the Fiddle and all the girls would go with one family, and the boys with the other family for a few days stay.
@overalvandaan I don't remember seeing pictures with heather in your project - perhaps too familiar for you - or maybe me not being very observant. I had to look up to realise that Calluna is the proper name for heather.
@helenhall my parents live in The Netherlands, I don't see them often unfortunately because we live in Wales. But I think you're right, I take the heath land for granted.
