Plans change; Cape May County, NJ had a mandatory evacuation by 8:00 am. A friend gave a call and asked if he, his wife, step-son, and bird could come and stay for a few days (we missed the evacuation order by a few miles) and we said "Sure". This necessitated a trip to the food store. I have never seen this store and parking lot this crowded.

I am so sorry for you and your wife. And how generous of you to take your friends in also. But ya do what ya have to do in this situation. I often wondered where does everyone go. You know all the motels will be full for sure in a safe zone. Keep in touch so we all know your ok.

Ugh, I do not envy you the trip to the store. Fortunately I already had enough supplies as there are just the two of us in the house but I made the mistake of driving through a grocery store parking lot. I've never seen it that crowded either, not even in pre-snow storm panics.
Enjoy your unexpected company. Hope it's not as bad up that way as they are predicting.
