Life magazine was founded in 1938 as "the first all-photographic American news magazine". This was the edition that showed the best photos during the first 50 years. In 1964, a Scottish photographer - Harry Benson [no relation] - was assigned to cover the Beatles first American tour. He is the most prolific of Life's photographers.
Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...

@hjbenson It was called "When Harry Benson Met Albert Watson" , broadcast in March 2011 (I didn't think so long ago!). It was one of a series where two Scottish 'celebs' met and discussed their work and lives. This one was "The two Scottish photographers who both now live in New York spend a day together in the city." Fascinating :-)
