This icicle landed on the roof of our enclosed porch (photographed through the bathroom window). But, a few really big icicles fell from the roof earlier all the way to the ground 3 stories below....YIKES! Sometimes it sounds like they are taking the roof with them! I'll be very glad when spring gets here.
It can be scary. I've seen it fall of tall buildings. Couldn't figure out what was making it look off until I read your explanation. Thought you were going for some kind of special effect. Fun picture.
