I keep some souvenir money in some candle holders that you can decorate with whatever you want. This one has a Saudi Riyal from 1990 and a Scottish Pound note from 1994, as well as paper bills from Austria, Italy, Sweden, Norway, and the Bahamas (that one started our collection) and coins from various European countries (all from the early 90s). It's a fun way to display my collection, but I'm afraid to burn a candle in it! LOL!
@swilde It makes a colorful collection from all the places we've traveled. @digitalrn Most of it was only worth a $1 or less when we collected it. Mostly it was just he leftover change from a trip we took.
Love the concept. I could spend the Scottish note here in England but the shops won't accept any Northern Irish ones I've collected when home to visit family!
@ceilidh I never made it to Ireland, unfortunately. I hear it's very beautiful. @lynnilou Wow, you have a huge collection. Ours is mostly from the European countries we visited while living there, and a few from Middle Eastern countries my hubby has been to. I think we have some money from China and South Africa that friends gave us for taking them to the airport and watching their dog.
