This beautiful red finch visited my yard today. This is the first time I've ever noticed him. I was excited that he stayed still long enough for me to get several good pictures of him.
Depending on where you're located, these are called either Male house finches or purple finches. Unless you're not in the U.S., then I really have no idea.
@mej2011 Hahaha! I'm in NH. I looked at pictures of all three, and they pretty much look like the same bird to me! Hopefully they can tell each other apart, because I can't.
