Our pastor describes our church as a dandelion church. Just as he gets everyone involved and "trained up" to be witnesses in the community, Uncle Sam comes along every summer like the wind and scatters a third or more of our members around the world. It's one of the pitfalls of being a church right next to a giant military installation. We literally lose a third of our congregation every summer due to changes in duty station. However, it's also a blessing, because he knows that those soldiers and military family members will go out and continue God's mission where ever Uncle Sam sends them.
Matthew 28:19 - Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
