Bullet-resistant glass can be translucent

My Get Pushed challenge this week was to photograph translucent or translucency. Well, this is one of my hubby's best military mementos. This is a piece of a bullet-resistant windshield. They repeatedly fired a 50-caliber round into the windshield until they almost broke through. A few more shots and it would have completely shattered. The dark spots and bullets or bullet fragments. In between, it's translucent. The light shines though, but you can no longer see through it, like you originally could.
Cool

I love both this one and the closer shot or crop. Both going in my favorites.

I like both. I think i am leaning toward the one without frame.

@francoise I agree, I like the other one better. I just included this one to show the whole piece. It's about a square foot, 2 inches thick, of shattered glass coated in epoxy in a wooden frame that stands up. My hubby's dad built the frame for it. It's a very heavy memento.
