121 - One of the last places that I visited in the Chilterns was the village of Speen, a small pleasant village with a wide variety of architecture. Some of the variety of buildings can be seen in this collage.
You've prompted me to have a look online - Wikipedia says 'The village name is Anglo Saxon in origin, and means "wood chips". This refers to the location of the hamlet in the Chiltern Forest where trees are likely to be felled fairly regularly.'
It's still a small village of about 600 people. The village pub and shop still survive - quite a novelty in small communities today

Thank you Sue, it's an interesting village that seems to have lots of things going for it.
Thank you Frida, it is a lovely village.
Thank you Wini, it's an interesting village which was well suited to being recorded in a collage.
