Train to Blackpool

199 - Every hour for most of the day a train leaves York station for Blackpool. Here it stands at platform 7 ready to form the 17:10 service.

We've looked at this magnificent Victorian station before ( http://365project.org/if1/365/2012-03-16, http://365project.org/if1/365/2012-04-02, http://365project.org/if1/365/2012-08-30 amongst others), but it is so attractive that I can't resist going back.

The platform where this train stands is in the shade, so I've again used HDR which has brought out more of the detail and lightened the shady areas. I welcome your comments on how I've used HDR here.
I can't comment on the technical aspects, but I really like the shot!

Lovely curves!
The HDR has achieved the result without being obtrusive.

A magnificent station, until forty years ago or so the roof was hidden underneath years and years of grime from the steam loco's -----but we do miss the steam !! A lovely photo.

fabulous place and photo!!

I think you have used HDR really well here. Sometimes it can be a bit overdone and false, this just looks a really crisp and clear photo, well done.

Nice image for this curved station. I don't know much about HDR, so I cannot comment there.

interesting. I love trains.

I think your choice of doing HDR was right, especially if the lighting conditions were not optimal. The picture looks good. Also the framing of the rails from the lower right corner leads my eyes to the train and beyond. In other words it's a nice line to follow in the photo.

I like what you've done with HDR in this capture. Appears to be a most appropriate use of the tool. Love the composition and the domed roof.

@collin

Thank you, glad you like it! The roof looks much better since it was cleaned, but there is one dark patch near the footbridge on platform 5 where visiting steam locomotives have left their mark!
