317 - Looking out of the house at the snow, I spotted this spider outside the window, on the glass, so here is my first attempt at a shot of a spider. Sadly very little of it's web is visible. If anyone recognises what kind of spider this is, I would be interested to know - my knowledge of such things is very poor indeed!
Cool shot!!! I know quite a lot about spiders... but only local ones... but if I can compare... then this is just a simple garden/house type of spider.
Very good shot. looks like a common garden spider, she has an egg sac; if she is undisturbed you may get to see the sac open and the lil ones parachute out. That would be a great picture...
Thank you Lydia - I think you win on clarity of spider, colour of spider and clarity of web - looks like I need more practice (and maybe a better camera too)!
Yikes but a great close up. I posted a shot of a spider just like this back in September and I looked up the name of it but I don't remember it at all. Might have to look it up again now.
Thank you Therese, and quite right, it is apparently a garden spider!
Thank you Malc - I think the water droplets are actually on it's web.
Thank you Lydia - it is apparently a common Garden spider
Thank you Cindy - not sure I will be allowed to leave a spider on our front window undisturbed, I think my wife will want it moving!
Thank you Lydia - I think you win on clarity of spider, colour of spider and clarity of web - looks like I need more practice (and maybe a better camera too)!
Thank you Cecilia, glad you like it!
Thank you Dar, it was an interesting new subject to try!
Thank you Kd, I tend to agree, but it is fascinating to see the detail revealed in a macro shot of one!
Thank you Tony - he's apparently a common Garden Spider.
Thank you Vesna - I think the droplets are on it's web, although the web isn't very clear in this shot.
Thank you Alison - I was quite pleased with outcome of this first attempt.
Thank you Caren, glad you like it.

Thank you Roslyn, I was pleased with the result.
Thank you Stevie, it was an interesting subject to try and capture.
Thank you Christine - it does look a bit like an extra from a 1950s Sci-Fi film!
Thank you Janet - I don't think my wife will give it a chance to come inside!
Thank you Brian, I was pleased with the result.
Thank you Debra, it was an interesting subject to try and capture.
Thank you Ann - I was inside, he was outside, so I'm not even sure that I was noticed!
Thank you Ladyjane - you're right it does. The droplets were actually on the web, which isn't too clear in this shot.
Thank you Tanja, glad you like it. Apparently it's a Garden spider.
Thank you Bruni - some of the detail was lost because I was shooting through a window.
