My husband phoned me this day that he had a problem (I was not home). He wanted to pick up his phone from the nightstand when he couldn't move anymore. Luckily he was next to the bed and got on. But because there was no way to move him I had to call 911. I told them it was not live-threatening, I only needed an ambulance to move him. They told me it is standard procedure was to send the firetruck first. They were very nice and called the ambulance. However, all 6 (4 from the firetruck, 2 from the ambulance) were needed to get my husband on the stretcher. After a day in the ER, he got a bunch of painkillers and after he proved he could walk 3 steps he was allowed to go home. My husband always has had a bad back, but refused to see a doctor. So now he has to see a doctor and I really hope that his chronic back pain will improve and obviously that this would never happen again! For now he seems ok and we are still planning to leave for a road trip just after Christmas!
