iFest

Tonight the had the "iFest - a celebration of Languages" at the school my oldest two go to. It's a Middle and High School which follows the IB program and is therefor quite international and language orientated. They teach Spanish, Italian, French and German, but at least 7 other languages were represented. Mostly by students like my daughter reading a poem in their home language.
Here is Nadya reading a poem of my favorite Dutch author Annie MG Schmidt. She mainly wrote poems and stories for children. This poem was called "Ik ben lekker stout" (I'm pretty naughty") and is about a child who does not want to be nice anymore.
Wow! Congratulations to your daughter for getting up on the stage and reading a poem in her home language! That's awesome! This certainly sounds like an outstanding school!

@gaylewood - finally time to react on comments. I'm reading and loving them all, but time to react is sometimes a problem...
This is a very good school indeed! After living in different places and seen the expensive international and private schools, I'm very impressed with the public schools in our district. Especially because they have a few charter schools, offering a different program. Only hesitation is the lottery, but once you got 1 child in, you are good with sibling priority.
