bed and socket Critique please!!

I'm not ignoring film, however I haven't developed any new rolls and rather than try to hurry I'm going to use iphone too. With film it's easy, develop, scan and upload. Digital I find trickier as there are so many possibilities post production. I have changed this to b&w, decreased brightness, increased contrast and used tilt-shift to change the focus. What I'd like is your opinion if the focus is a step too far - please! Much appreciated and thank you :)
It certainly has an interesting charm. I took my Nikon FM and Olympus Pen FT on my last photoshoot, aswell as my digital as backup,I took two rolls of film and maybe 50 backup shots, both rolls ripped in camera, one length-ways, the other across. I developed them both after recovering them and one came out but half were lost because of the rip the other came out blank. I had to go to the model like 'hey sorry there's just some shitty digital... so film has its downsides for sure.

@chewyteeth You got your FM - how wonderful is it? Bummer about the films ripping, at least shitty digital is better than nothing. This is the kind of look I'd like to get with film and I have a nearly finished roll of b&w in the Rollei that I'm going to develop in Caffenol. Love your Tungsten work - looked for film - boo hoo all gone but you really got some stunning colours

Great b&w ! I love what a phone camera & snapseed can achieve. Awesome image!! I wont be going to that furniture store thow errrr ;)

I'm liking this, think your treatment suites the subject matter. Where do you find these crumbling interiors? I'm far to scary to go into derelect houses on my own!

@jacjacs68 No? Half price sale on, not even a little tempted? You're right though about snapseed - i kind of love it at the moment :)
@sheilag It was in Tankerness , near the Quoburray - I took this through a broken window pane! No way to get in

Is the focus a step too far? Depends on what you're going for I think. The unfocused part adds mystery to this image and I like it along with the darkness. Pulls the eye towards the lit area.

They don't make the Tungsten anymore? aww man! Yeah the FM arrived, checked al working 100%. Its lovely, heavy, with some nice Nikon zooms and really nice condition on its metal and leathers, spotless. I'm going to sell some of the accessories and I reckon I'll pay for the camera that way, there's a fair few bits with it and a flick through ebay shows they're all worth something. Nikon stuff seems not to lose its value very much.

I think it looks rather dramatic. Like a heroin den. That's not your house is it?

@amyspada Thanks Amy, I wanted a dark feel to it - just feel like I don't know when to stop with processing sometimes !
April 12th, 2013
@riverlandphotos Why yes it is, nah just joking - the original was pinky and so NOT the feel I wanted. I like that you think it looks like a heroin den though :)

For the record, I have no idea what a heroin den looks like. Crack, maybe.

very cool shot. You achieve a lot of depth and tones with your iphone.

@chewyteeth It justs sounds so sweet, it has to be the one I was watching, gorgeous camera. It says out of stock on Lomo shop for the tungsten

I love. I could have sworn that this photo was from 1930! I love the fact that the top of the picture is so clear and the lower part so dark .

Very mysterious -- I like the soft focus.

Looks great, scene from an old horror movie, good processing.

Real eerie feel. The dark bits work well with the lighter shade on wall. Am intrigued by there being small parts to see

awesome moody shot. love the textures
April 13th, 2013
You've created an ambience here, so I'd say whatever you did in post was great! Of course, you kind of had to take the right shot to begin with to make all that work. Nicely done! :)

I really like this - I assumed it was a film shot until I read on. For me it is very atmospheric. Definitely a fav.
April 13th, 2013
@ingrid2101 Half price you say ?? Lol :)
April 13th, 2013
Really a phone? This is creepy cool. I love the b&w, depth and the blur just tops it all off. Oh yes and the paper coming off the wall, perfect. Once again a fav!!
April 14th, 2013
I think its a great photo. Wouldn't change a thing. Focus is bang on.
April 14th, 2013
Fav, I love the bleak feel & your focus adds something good to that.

@vase Thank you Carla, they're not bad little cameras really - limited but the fun is with the apps
@johnmnewman Ooo Thank you - I like the ref to Horror movie
@aprilmilani Thank you April, glad you like it !! :)
@denidouble @studiombkcom @jacjacs68 @janpenny @still_beachradish @abhijit @chezza @annick @wendyhgill
Thank you very much for the positive comments - although I liked it I thought I'd maybe gone OTT with the processing. It's really just about having confidence to like what you like and be done with it. I get so much out of this site so thank you all again

Very spooky Ingrid. It is the sort of thing I expect to see as a book cover.
