Although this was a colour film I thought it looked better in b&w. I have a few days off work so hopefully will get some more film done as this is another trawl through older (august) images. Don't fancy staying here but it's obvious someone did. Maybe just the remnants of a party.
Kodak 200 asa
Nikon fe
tetenal c41 kit
Wouldn't fancy sleeping there but it is a wonderful shot that triggers so many questions and scenarios. Love the composition and textures too. Great shot as always
Great shot as usual, bit of agrim place to end up so lets hope it was just a party, though it's a bit sad for that too come to think of it, still the dark night can hide a lot.. fav.
I really think that this image needs to be viewed large. Its brilliant. I can't imagine it in anything other than B&W. I'm interested in the details of where this is, and what is it, but without a story, it allows my mind to create all sorts of situations.
As an aside, my hearts always jumps into my throat when I see the possessions of someone in an abandoned place. And that was the first reaction I had when viewing this.
Super nice shot. I just got my friend to borrow a film SLR because she's going to a wedding and has to photograph the brides morning and she didn't trust her digital. A recruit! third this year, I feel so evangelical. Bad news though, I bought a Yashica GSN 35 and a Cosina CX1 and a Pentax lens, but all arrived broken, so returned for refund. EBay arseholes. I've bought a Leica R lens though too, just need the Leica R camera to use it! Did you buy another camera or did your itch go away?
@chewyteeth Shit! All broken ? That's really bad luck, nice news about the leica lens though. Seriously considering selling some of my "silly " cameras to invest in medium format. My itch will never go away - I'm getting the mirror fixed in my FE ( stuck a couple of weeks ago), luckily my husband has(had, it's mine now - I touched it last nah nah nah ) one too. So he's going to replace the foam. Always more i want. Glad to see your making some recruits too :)
@ingrid2101 Bought a Leica R3 today!! whoop. Erm, I'm the same, I'm going to have to take my Pentax MX to the shop this weekend and get the mirror sorted and get it serviced. At least you're using them dude, I just buy them and polish them... ;(
@chewyteeth Jealous now - get out and use them !! Have you had any meetings with the film club? There's a guy in Manchester does collodion weekend courses- I don't know if I want to save up for that as I could see that becoming horrendously expensive. Probably the stupidest camera is a Viewmaster stereo camera and I bought the cutter too - probably won't get my money back either as it came from the states and had import ...etc
wow, never saw one till now! wtf is a stereo reel? what does it make?
I fell out with medium format. Didn't do it for me. Bronica was the thing I always fancied, the ETRS with a 80mm lens, if you can get one for just less than £100 they hold their value and there's loads of accessories. But I never went for it, the developing and scanning, and loads of other reasons. 12 shots, meh. nah, its 35mm all the way for me, I love it, I saw those courses in Manchester, bit expensive though. Nah the film club never happened! boooooo. I might try again. but its the rainy season now. storms down here this weekend, I hate to think what its like up there.
@chewyteeth It makes little stereo images on slide film that you can cut put and put in a reel- well such an impulse buy, had to have it- may actually just go and get the roll that's been in for over a year developed - I'm doing E6 at home now so not so expensive. I also "had" to get a lomo kino . Fuck! £80 gone like that. Seriously the amountbi've spent on film and cameras over the past few years would have bought a Hasselblad. I like 12 as I like square format and also get impatient to get a roll finished. There is the issue of scanning as I don't have one that does 120 . Weather is actually ok. Was out in the garden as I loved what Peter had done with an extension tube and mentioned it to Stuart( husband) who had one!! What??? He's kindly donated it to me, duh. The course is expensive, so's getting down there so maybe in a few years... Good thing about winter though is darkroom has been tidied- wanting to get printing again, so many things I want to do !!!
