Not what I wanted today. I decided less is more so i will only be taking one camera and going to one location to try and simplify. Ha! Backfired on me today. I took the new FE body I bought to replace the one I broke, loaded some Portra and walked a good bit out on the coastline. Stopped at this water fall and thought I'd take some photos - camera wouldn't wind the film on. Tried a few things and ended up taking iphone instead. I had a look at the camera when I got home , ended up taking the film put then it worked perfectly. In 30 years of doing film the only problems I've had have been with portra. It hasn't wound on with me before and I struggle to get it wound in the reels. This is really annoying as it's my favourite film. I love the tones and colours it gives. and if that's all I've got to complain about then life must be pretty good. The sky is always overblown so I've processed this in snapseed, using tilt-shift and a vintage filter. Hope everyone has had a good weekend
Just sold my FE today on eBay, Got a very nice price for it. Just got back from an antiques fair too where there was some decent stuff going for decent prices but I'm over the whole buying and selling thing. This year my project is growing my own veg, considerably cheaper than buying cameras. I've done on-location fixes with film in the past just under my coat on my knee, never caused any problems. Never used portra though. Great shot btw
@chewyteeth I only realised it was the film when I got home, it wouldn't have mattered as I didn't have another roll on me, nice one on the veg growing. I'm kind of in limbo at the moment, there's loads I want to do but the time restrictions are getting to me.. :)
Oh wow, I´d really love to see these kind of Place in person, what a big waterfall! Great textures and love that hazyness on the top, beautiful capture
I would have sworn you shot this on film, maybe instant film. But after reading your description, I'm further convinced that you really have a talent at post processing. The photo looks great, though I'm sure that is no consolation considering your little film mishap. ;-D
