Keizersgracht by jack4john

Keizersgracht

Spent the best part of the week looking at this corner of Amsterdam. It was the first thing we saw every morning, it is on the corner of Keizersgracht and the canal that leads to the Rembrandtplien. The house on the corner does lean out a little over the street, it's hard to imagine that such a jumble of house sizes and widths could work aesthetically, but work it does to create a wonderful playground for a guy with a camera...
lovely shot!

All the very small houses, like the dark one next to the corner house, always amazes me. Imagine having to fit your furniture into that.
Nice shot.

Makes you wonder why architects and builders elsewhere have such devotion to the plumb line and the square edge. Nice shot.

Oh what a fun place to photograph. It made me look and think for a moment as I worked out all the wonky walls.
