Holy Family Church

Located in Cahokia, Illinois, this log church was built in 1799 - it is the oldest church west of the Allegheny Mountains (U.S.). This photo was taken for the 2015 CHALLENGE: WEEK 36: ARCHITECTURE – CHURCH/RELIGIOUS BUILDING. Strangely enough, I didn't know about this church until I started looking for historic churches in the area because of this photo challenge. I've driven a mile from this church any number of times and not known it was there.
Really noce photo. I've never heard to this church, will have to look it up!

Very nice photo. It is amazing how "close" somethings can be and we still miss them. Thanks for sharing this with us all! FAV

A nicely balanced shot of an interesting building. Most of the churches in my part of the world are much older than this.
