I thought this effect on the water was interesting. It looks like what we quilters call stippling - a pattern sometimes used when 'sandwiching' the three layers that make a quilt - top, batting, and backing. Various patterns are used when sewing the quilt sandwich together. Stippling is often used to densely quilt a small area. Not sure how I got this effect on the water but I liked it.
I was just thinking to day that I had not seen any photos of KOI...and there you are! They are so beautiful! Love the motion of the water....not a quilter but I love the way it looks!
@pflaume - Thanks Lisa. They are in a little pond next to a pond shop at the nursery I like to go to. Some of them are a good size. @eyesmile - Thanks Gena - new pond this year at the nursery I like to go to.
@june@paul2782@cazann@chard@judis@kcman5 - thanks so much - I am glad you like. :-) @carolb - thanks Carol - us quilters see these things, eh? When I told my hubby there was stippling on the water he raised his eyebrow - then I showed him the pic and he was amazed! @maggiemae - I think that must be it, Maggiemae - they were churning up the water. @bristolrose - Thanks Kathryn. @swguevin - thanks Sheila. I need to get some software so I can edit and learn layering - that would be fun! @sansjuan@swilde - thanks Nita and Sue.
@carolb - awww - thanks Carol! @elsbels - Thanks Helen! @foxsparrow - thanks Ann - and you are welcome - I am in awe of your photography - you do such a beautiful job.
The colors of the koi are beautiful, but it's that water pattern that's super-special! I would have called it moire', not knowing that quilter call it stippling.
