2nd Book of 2019… WOW! I can’t begin to tell you how much I LOVED THIS BOOK!! This debut novel is an AMAZING work of artistic, poetic, prose rooted from the author’s background as a Wildlife Scientist and Nature Writer. She captures the beauty of the coastal marshes of North Carolina’s Outer Banks and places you right in the middle of its flora and fauna... Right in the middle of the Marsh that Kya “The Marsh Girl” calls her home. Rejected by everyone that she loves, Kya lives and survives in her shack surrounded by her private world: The gulls, the herons, the shells, the water, the grasses, the mushrooms, her new mother… Mother Nature, while the surrounding world hates her, laughs at her, harasses her, attacks her. A beautiful story of heartache, abandonment, betrayal, loneliness, the Hope for Love and… MURDER!
A MUST read, you will be captivated by it!
This is on hold at the library while I read City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert. Check it out!

Great book! I also enjoyed the movie, I don’t cry during many. Last one I cried in was The Book Thief. This one got me though.
