One night in Flag

Recent shot of the Big Pine Cone which is dropped each New Year's Eve here in downtown Flag. Pine cones and needles are a big thing here since we live in the world's largest Ponderosa Pine Forest.

Cool shot. I'd love to see it again as a long exposure on a tripod with some traffic light trails. Cool spot!

@annied Thank you, this was a cell shot since I went downtown with camera and no card ($%#) but it worked out. I wonder why the trail on the lights- is it the lens on the phone?

@graemestevens Thank you very much. I am going to try to get the fall on camera later this month. Will post if it works out, even kinda.

@joysabin my guess about the trails would be movement of some sort - I am no expert though :)

So cool! Does it drop from there or is it hoisted up the pole for New Year's Eve?

@cgribben It does drop by they have a cable of sorts on it. New Year's Eve is the anniversary of the opening date back in 1901 I believe.

Thank you. This is extremely interesting.
Funny, I always knew that there was Ponderosa Pine lumber, but it never occurred to me that there would be a Ponderosa Pine forest. :-)))
