Bell in IR by joysabin

Bell in IR

Sedona is best in the winter IMHO. I love the crispness that the winter air gives the rocks and its not too hot yet. This is Bell Rock which is really in the Village of Oak Creek just south of the city.
Absolutely stunning!

Joy, do you have a special IR camera or do you process?? This is lovely
January 6th, 2020
The IR really catches this beautifully - puts all of the emphasis on the Rock. :)

Impressive formation- the IR really pulls out the contrasts.

And IR gives that extraterrestrial flare... big fav!

Very interesting 'rock'. Can't help but wondering how this got formed down through the years.

Very cool. Makes me think of an otherworldly sci-fi city on an alien planet.

@jernst1779 Thank you so so much for the fav. I love this rock, never climbed it (at least yet). There is a trail that goes to the top.

@kali66 Truly thankful for the fav. Something about Sedona, its a crazy touristy place but so amazing too.

@moviegal1 You are most kind, thank you so much for the fav.

@judithtb Thank you a great deal. The rocks in Sedona Arizona are almost magical, the whole town really should be a national park.

@angelikavr Thank you so much, very appreciative of the fav. I was using my old manual focus vivitar lens. I am liking using my older lenses more and more.

@pistache Thank you so very much. Truly grateful for the fav. There is something so magical about Sedona.

@mzzhope Thank you so very kindly for the fav. Living in Flagstaff is truly a gift. Sedona is just 27 miles south. I don't go down often enough but it is just amazing.

@ninaganci This rock is short as compared to the surrounding peaks but still I haven't climbed it yet, should but not yet. The Sedona red rocks are almost magical. This is a huge tourist draw in Northern Arizona but so very worth it. I am very thankful for the fav.

@violetlady I had to time my shot, this is a very popular trail with hikers and mountain bikers. It was close to sunset so most had gone. Sedona is a real magic.

@jacqbb Truly thankful for the fav. I just love Sedona.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond This Sony A37 is converted to IR. I used Life Pixel to do that. You can find IR converted cameras on Ebay for about the price I paid- 250 US. It is a blast to play with. YouTube has lots of videos on how to but it was (and continues to be) a good learning curve for me- don't get frustrated just keep playing and trying. If you jump in, let me know and I am here for support.

@robz Thank you so so much for the fav. I really like how IR 'catches' textures. I was also using a manual focus lens.

@olivetreeann Thank you so much. IR is amazing with textures.

@domenicododaro So thankful for the fav. I will run with that, it was the aliens that made me do this. I can really bomb with IR (you don't get to see those shots)but, sometimes it can just surprise me.

@gardencat Thank you so much. I understand that this whole area was under water just a few million years ago, the Mogollon Rim which is just above the Sedona area does resemble a shore line.

@francoise There are those who think that Sedona is a different planet or at least dimension. It is a haven of New Agers but I love and definitely recommend it.

@pdulis Thank you so much for the fav, very grateful.

@fbailey Thank you so kindly for the fav. Sedona is a magical spot to see and explore.

@cjphoto Thank you a great deal. Getting back up wasn't pretty but who cares, I got up :):)

@haskar Thank you so very kindly, very thankful for the fav.

@bokehdot You are so kind, very appreciative of the fav.

@redy4et Thank you so much, of the rocks in Sedona, Bell lends itself to B&W best.

@vignouse So very kind, truly am grateful for the fav. I love Bell, it is a baby rock compared to the others around her.

Thank you joy.

Wonderful photo and processing. Looks like winter is a beautiful time of year there, In Louisiana it's been humid and drizzly--not the best conditions for landscape photos!
January 15th, 2020
@eudora But you can get water droplet shots. Winter is the best time for hiking in Sedona in my opinion. I don't really like the heat too much. Truly am grateful for the fav too.
