As Nigel had been tracked and traced I took myself ou on a bike ride. It was a dull old morning but there’s a nice ride over in the West Cambridge site of the university. Until 10 years ago there was only the Vet School and Cavendish Physics laboratories out there and you felt pretty much in the country but no longer. There are lots of high tech buildings either finished or going up, including the enormous Cavendish III funded by Ray Dolby, the university sports club and a load of rather uninspired accommodation. This futuristic building however has been there since the 1980’s when we arrived here - they are an engineering company working with the oil industry so I guess they’re looking for future technologies these days!
Weather: rubbish- cold, wet, terrible for June
Covid: isolation times
Good thing: I dropped my bank card somewhere on the route (because I was taking photos!) and had a call from the bank before I’d even got home because a nice dog walking man had found it and called the bank instead of heading out on a spending spree.
Well what a saviour your dog Walker chap is…not so good to lose now in these tap & swipe days…£45 a few times would certainly dent a hole in your savings! You hadn’t even had time to have a wee worry about it either! Strange sort of tent like looking structures, they don’t even look strong enough to have lasted since the eighties!
Interesting structure. At first glance I thought it must be a part of the agriculture department. Love, love the outcome of your lost bank card! Score one for people of character.
