I don’t often post pictures of this Victorian Park next to Christ’s College but it’s looking at its best at the moment with the roses out on the Princess Diana memorial in the middle. It originally belonged to Jesus College and was originally farmland (I think divided into ‘pieces’). Luckily when it was sold it was expressly specified that it must be used for public recreation because there have been attempts to put a road through it in the past. When we first arrived in Cambridge 30 + years ago we were amazed at all the green spaces in the city centre and this was one of them. It isn’t very big but is still not really safe after dark as it’s periodically a bit of a hang out for drug users.
Weather: sunny with some very brief, intense rain showers
Covid: loads of cases, mostly young
Good thing: John Lewis having everything we needed including a new purse to replace the one that I’ve stretched so the cards fall out. Now I can’t get them out as the slots are tight and Nigel says that’s a good thing!
Beautiful! Looks like a painting. I'm sorry to hear about the safety concerns and drug users. Seems like so many urban parks are dealing with those kinds of issues.
It looks a lovely place to walk & meet up, the memorial looks nicer than the recent one to me! Might be just me but I’m not too keen.
Laughing about the slots in your purse as my card holder is exactly the same. I struggle each time I try & spend any money & all the edges are coming undone so it’s even harder to get them out!
