Bit of a cheat this as I took it yesterday - but Adam's at hockey camp again so I thought it would be OK - I was just too lazy to head back across the road and re-take the picture! We are off tomorrow evening for two days in Berlin so I've been doing some last minute planning to try and squeeze lots in. Unfortunately, I've only just realised that you have to register to go in the Reichstag dome so I'm probably too late for that :0( If we don't get in we'll have to go back to Berlin again!
So many thanks for recent commenting and faves and apologies in advance for my absence - I will catch up ASAP.
@peggysirk They are beehives in an allotment Peggy!! Allotments are community gardens - you can rent a plot of land (they are a very specific, quite large area) and grown vegetable (usually) or flowers, or keep bees or hens. Some are immaculate, some are ramshackle and one in this group had a winding path, a swing, a summer house and children's toys!
Don't they have any in America? They used to be the preserve of old men pottering about with hoes but now they are all the rage - my sister has one and my sister-in-law - I just have a weedy patch of pumpkins! @peggysirk
@judithg Occasionally you'll hear of a neighborhood or housing complex setting aside a community garden area...but, unfortunately, it's the exception rather than the rule.
I'm sure Monty behaved better than my two did when I was photographing beehives - Storm got too close and was stung several times on his face - he got some bald patches but didn't seem too bothered by it! Have a lovely time in Berlin...
I hope you are having a fab time in Berlin!! Even if the Reichstag doesn't work out there is more than enough to see there.
This is a lovely photo, I really like the perspective.
