Nuts! Whole Hazelnuts! by judithg

Nuts! Whole Hazelnuts!

I guarantee every British person of a certain age will be singing that title! Sorry! I spotted these alien life forms when taking Monty on a quick walk around the neighbourhood in between chauffering services. The field hockey season has started with avengeance.
Photography is a marvellous invention - only when looking at these on the computer did I notice the droplets of 'juice' on the spikey projections.
.... and they cover them in chocolate!!! What are the few words in the middle? Anyway, yes, I'm singing it now!! This is pic is awesome!!

Is this what Nutella starts as?!?!
September 11th, 2011
It's one of the catchy tunes that you just can't get out of your head.......thats why we all still remember the words!!! Thanks Judith!! Love the contrast in your shot though. great shot.

Yes I'm singing too! Interesting to see the whole fruit and in two stages.
September 11th, 2011
@bpaquette @mejbronant Yep - Nutella!! But I'm not sure if these are a funny variety - they are really crazy ones!

Judith, who'd have a thought a picture so simple and pretty, with the addition of a title could evoke such passion and words...........we all loved cadbury's and what they once stood for........and what they stand for now ..well no words needed.

Great pic btw :)

Love it, I've never see them in that form before!

They look like alien beings but in actual fact they are selling these in Booths Supermarket at the moment, they apparently have a very short season ! Great capture & they are rather beautiful when looked at closely !
September 11th, 2011
@happypat Ooh really? What are they calling them - not like Kentish cob nuts which I've seen around are they?
September 11th, 2011

September 11th, 2011

These look quite surreal to me! Don't know the tune you're referring to but you're making me curious now :)
September 12th, 2011
Lovely shot, I never noticed the shape of these before.

@halkia I can't find the original advert - I think this is a follow up but it does have 'the' song!

Brilliant shot! These wonderful nuts could either be aliens or cousins of Audrey II from "Little Shop of Horrors". Wildly beautiful.
September 12th, 2011
@peggysirk Feed me now!!! I wondered where that voice was coming from!
September 12th, 2011

Love the colours and the details - and what if I call them filberts?

Cadbury's take 'em and they cover 'em with chocolate ...
and do you remember the 'Fruit 'n' Nut case' slogan? (only because there was a Fireball (dinghy) called Brute 'n' Nut Case - which was a useful phrase for life)

Cool.
