I haven't got a decent shot at all today :0( I'm determined to get a bokeh shot - I got all set up with instructions from @bmnorthernlight, left it a bit late due to glacial computer speed and then discovered that I need better fairy lights and they are shut in a bedroom with a sleeping, exhausted teenager. So... tomorrow...
This is King's Parade taken from Senate House Passage. You can't usually get this shot because the Senate House gates are generally closed but for some reason they were open yesterday so I grabbed my chance. Hope everybody is doing better than I am - I thought December would be easy with Christmas stuff and snow (it hasn't snowed & not even much frost) but I'm limping along like Rudolf on Boxing Day....
I'm the same as you, I thought I'd have cold frosty shots and really pretty decorations but nothing is going to plan and I just find it frusrating :( Good luck with your bokeh tomorrow!
Great capture as it's usually behind locked doors!
@happypat Yes - I noticed those too - the shops are owned by King's College and they were completely renovated a couple of years ago - I think they have squeezed in lots of student accommodation so I'm guessing it's fire regs or access or something!
The tree is super and I really like the purple ? Dormers. Re bokeh instructions, where would I find them. I'm limping along too but more because my cold is now 2 1/2 weeks old and it is getting wearing
Lovely architecture --- quite a variety in a small space! I am running out of ideas - or maybe it's just time - but am worried about being inspired to do another 365 when I can't even find a pic for today!
How cool that you got to take a shot from the "forbidden passage" ;) and I love the colours of the houses on King's Parade - they look really cheery. Believe me, bokeh is soo much fun you won't stop for a few days. My fairy lights are fairly crappy (pun intended) but if you put them at least half a meter behind your foreground object, then light that object with a flashlight and put your aperture at about 1,8 or as low as it can go, it really is easy-going. Can't wait to see your results!!!!
that's a lovely shot and how great you got to see it.
I have spent the last two weeks just about getting a daily picture, but anything ambitious has fallen off the end of my energy - however, school's are out so with any luck I might get to play
Not a good shot? I rather like it. What I like about it is the various colours and styles in the buildings are all at odds with each other, yet somehow they compliment.
Nice opportunistic shot. December's been pretty bad for me too, there are too many other things going on and I'm lacking time and inspiration! Hoping for some snow too!
