No obvious pics today. I spent the morning strapped to my computer - (not doing fun stuff) and then took Monty off to nearby Cambourne for a nice walk with friends & dogs. He is normally a complete pain off-lead here, pestering for hoops etc but we did the walk in reverse which clearly confused him and he behaved very well indeed for once! Cambourne is a new development and a successful one largely, I believe, because it has a very big nature reserve. It is also home to the headquarters of The Wildlife Trust so the reserve has been expertly established and managed. Here we had sun behind us and some clouds which were raining heavily ahead of us so we quickened our pace - unnecessarily as it happened because the rain didn't actually reach us.
I often pass Cambourne when returning home from Norfolk but have never ventured into the town/village. Nice to hear that there is a nature reserve there. I will have to try to get over there some time and take some pics
This is type of shot is on my bucket list: dark brooding sky in the distance and sunlit landscape in the foreground. It doesn't happen often and when it does it always inspires me but I'm always driving and can't stop or I have left my camera behind. A long-winded way of saying fav for me!
Just stunning Judith &surely another PP !!! That light is just amazing & these dark clouds do make for some spectacular shots especially if the sun is shining on the fore ground like this one. Love the pond in the front & the little jettys ... I expect the folks in those houses would be thrilled to see how great their homes looked !!!
Wow - that weather looks seriously scary. Reminds me of the day we walked and never got caught in the dark clouds (well, nearly never...). I love how you have divided your picture into brightness and darkness!
I thought that this was Cape Cod, MA, USA when I found it on the Pop Page. Well, I guess it just showshow we were influenced. Great photo...quite moody and full of character
wow i love this! at first i thought it was two different photographs but when i clicked on it i realized it was just the top of the houses. This is wonderful tho! I love the contrast between the light on the town and the land and the darkness of the sky.
I love this moment, when you can feel and see the storm coming, but the light is still peaking through and warming up everything till the rain comes .... Great shot
I don't know if you know of the Pre-Raphaelite painting 'The bling girl' by John Everett Millais, but the wet tones in this shot remind me very much of that painting.
what great light. sounds like a cool spot.
