A bit of a diary shot today - hospital cup of tea! I'm kicking myself that I didn't have my phone in the radiology suite when I was having my shoulder treated as the lovely radiographer would have let me take photos of the screen (after it was finished - I wasn't really in a position during!). The X-rays of my shoulder were pretty cool - and she said it was all ragged and horrible so I haven't been inventing the symptoms after all. I had something called dilatation of the shoulder (stop reading if you're squeamish!). They stuck a very long needle into my shoulder capsule with some local anaesthetic (which does not work fast enough!), some dye and a load of saline which stretches the capsule until it ruptures. It saves them doing it surgically and the rupturing was a big relief I can tell you! I haven't squeezed a hand so hard since I had babies!! Early tomorrow morning I go for some heavy duty physiotherapy. I can lift my arm with the other hand and get some good movement but it is a dead weight if I try to move it under its own steam. So I'm afraid I won't be able to do much commenting at all tonight. I'm REALLY sorry because I really do appreciate all of the wonderful support you've given my fledgling blog!! You've given me lots more confidence to keep going. 365 rocks!!
Hope you are feeling better soon. Did they tell you to ice it today? I did not have that done - just radiology guided antiinflammatory injections that weren't fun afterwards. Rest up for tomorrow!
Ugh! Sounds hideous. I would have needed more than a cup of tea after such an ordeal, maybe a new pair of shoes :)) I sure hope things improve for your poor shoulder. Keep us posted.
cool - I love it when you can see what's going on in your own body (as long as it doesn't involve blood!!) Sounds painfulm, but like you will be on the mend soon...worth the temporary pain?? Good hospital cuppa shot...have a good rest tonight
Painful yes Judith but something positive being done at last !!! You won't mind anything as long as they fix it & get rid of the pain I'm sure ! Rest up & do as you are told & hopefully soon all will be well !! Great iphone shot so your'e not down & out yet !!!!!!
Eeek that sounds painful, hope your not in too much pain! my aunt had/has shoulder problems she had cortisone injections.....good luck with physio tomorrow =)
