Well nearly there. It turns out that half a tonne of gravel wasn't enough! But enough for now.... Note that bubbling water feature - I'm pleased with that and enjoy the slate cobbles before the cat/dog/son knocks them into the pond. I think I may be able to glue them in place - Google required....
@shannew We've done that previously and the builder got cement in the pond and it ended up about pH14. Took about 2 years and several bottles of malt vinegar to get it back to neutral. I gave these slates a good wash as they were dusty and I suddenly thought they might be alkaline! They won't survive long loose though!
Oh, I like the finished product and pictorial narrative. Can you cross the pond (hehe) and come help me with my garden? I've been trying to get Jad Dumbrell, British ex-pat and owner of Covent Garden Landscape Design here in Virginia, to do some work for me but he has bigger fish to fry and my little project is of no interest to him. Can't get him to return my calls.
Monty is totally fixated on that ball, probably wondering why it's so inert and nobody has noticed.
A good job done, well done you! I think ground force have definietly have been in for the make over as you have a blue pergola seat, and everyone knows that Alan Titchmarsh painted everything blue!
Wow - what a transformation - I can appreciate all the back-breaking labor that went into that. It looks lovely for the party - and for afterwards when you can actually sit and enjoy it!
I love ponds and water features - always had trouble - goldfish to eat the mosquito larvae - kingfishers eating the gold fish.... large dog jumping in the middle....!
