Some of the varied canines from Sunday's excursion. I love going in the show ring and getting in the way - I'd love a press pass! Quite a few of these are rescues even the pedigrees. Lizzie at the bottom in the middle won Best in Show. She has had a very traumatic time, starting life as a feral puppy fending for herself on a beach in Greece and then running away from her foster home who weren't very sensitive to her needs. She is in the show ring with another of her owner's dogs - he came for reassurance and look at the paws - lovely! The lady in the middle runs the Toy Dog rescue charity. She's keeping the dog she's holding which is just recovering from being a physical wreck after being kept outside. The females they rescued were kept in cages stacked one on top of the other - you can imagine the state of the dog at the bottom. Disgraceful puppy farms. Anyway - on a happier note - look at that beautiful Monty impersonator puppy!!!
Now, don't be making poor Monty jealous just cause he pulls on the leash! How is your shoulder by the way? Love this collage and the stories of cruel and fabulous human deeds
Love all these doggy expressions, what a variety of dogs, the top left dog makes me laugh for some reason, he looks rather ernest! Of course the top right one is the winner!! great admiration for the lady rescuer!
Oh I'd have any one or maybe all! lol Lucky you to get to do this photoshoot. And just a few very lucky doggies to be found. I had a Battersea rescue dog for 12 years.....she was the love of my life.....in animal terms you understand!
@fueast Apparently when they get closed down they move county and set up again - Wales is full of puppy farms they said because there's lots of countryside to hide in. @sleepdozer57 Lizzie did brilliantly well to cope in that situation - she now has a very experienced dog-trainer for an owner and they had a little camp away from scary children (all of whom behaved impeccably!) and dogs she didn't know. There was a sort grey/white collie I thought would be more up your and Alison's street!
A dog lovers' collage. I have the utmost trouble understanding the mentality of people who mistreat dogs. The Cairn looks like Jinks did before I gave him a haircut yesterday!
@judithg I love Jinks and he's such a character. But we've met no end of folk while out walking him who enthuse greatly over him and then tell us that they USED to have a Cairn.......................
I love them all, poor babies my heart breaks for them all and so happy they have found homes, how can people be so heartless. this is a great collage and set of shots Judith, you should get a 365 pres pass/
